Just a few reasons to consider adding an extension to your home!

Increased quality of life

Increasing the size and quality of a living, sleeping, working or playing area will add quality of life for the whole family.  Space and tidiness is great for mental health.

02

Add value to your property

One of the primary reasons for home improvements is to add value. An extension not only adds value, but makes the property appealing to more buyers.

03

Add storage space

Storage, storage, storage... it's a never-ending need! Embrace the opportunity of new space to declutter and organize your home and enjoy the rewards.

04

Stay where you love

Space a problem, but you get on with the neighbours, your children are happy at school and don't want the hassle and cost of moving? An extension is the answer!

Commonly asked questions

  • What area do you cover?

Pro Build East Ltd are based in Hadleigh and primarily work throughout Suffolk, but also cross into Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire.

  • Where do we start with a house extension?

To ensure the success of any project, it is crucial to align your objectives and budget. Therefore, it is essential to carefully evaluate what you hope to achieve and determine the true financial resources you have available.

Once you have a firm grasp on these two aspects, it is then time to consult with an architect who can transform your objectives into a tangible design within your budget.

We are happy to suggest some great architects for your project.

  • What is the Party Wall Act?

The Party Wall Act is a legislation aimed at preventing disputes between neighbouring property owners by addressing issues concerning party walls and boundaries. It applies to walls shared by two or more landowners, such as semi-detached and terraced houses, as well as shared structures e.g. floors and flats.

If you plan to undertake a project that involves work on land or structures covered by the Party Wall Act, you must provide relevant parties with a 'party wall notice' to inform them of your intentions. They will need to agree to the proposed project, leading to the formation of a Party Wall Agreement.

For more information on the Party Wall Act, please visit the Gov.uk website.

  • Will a house extension need planning permission?

‘Permitted Development Rights’ allow for certain change of use and physical works to be undertaken without the need for planning permission.

If your extension falls within permitted development rights, you will not need planning permission. To be sure, you should always check with your local planning authority (LPA) before you commence any work.
